CORONA Chamber Staff Inspired by National Conference

The CORONA Chamber of Commerce staff attended the virtual W.A.C.E. (Western Association of Chamber Executives) Conference Feb. 3 through Feb. 5, 2021. The conference is an annual event that brings leaders from 20 Western States and Canada together. The W.A.C.E. Conference Chair and President/CEO of the Long Beach Area (CA) Chamber, Jeremy Harris, says the event is necessary to “support each other, learn from one another, and help uplift our industry so we can continue to do the much-needed work in our communities.” The conference was a success that left the staff feeling motivated and excited for where the Chamber is heading in 2021 and beyond.
The three-day event featured keynote speakers, Ryan Estis from Ryan Estis & Associates, Betsy Allen-Manning from Motiv8u Enterprises, and John Register from Inspired Communications International. Each gave inspirational messages on how to push through a difficult year and achieve growth and success.
Estis opened the first day of the conference with a message on how to Adapt and Thrive. CORONA Chamber Vice President of Operations, Deserie Ramirez, shares: “Estis made a point about asking the question, ‘Am I making decisions from a place of love or from a place of fear?’ This made me reflect on how our Chamber is reacting in these uncertain times and the support we offer our businesses.” Estis closed his session with a challenge to develop an action plan to stay ahead.
Allen-Manning shared the DNA of High Achievers and gave a four-step process for planning an exact path to success. Lastly, Register revealed how to Hurdle Adversity by sharing his story of his path to the Olympics being crushed by a tragic accident that left him an amputee. A Veteran and CSP Paralympic Silver Medalist, Register empowered the attendees to overcome any adversity and uncover what is behind personal fears. The CORONA Chamber staff plans to use this inspiration and newfound knowledge to prepare for the year ahead and continue to provide excellent service to our members and the Greater Corona area business community.
