Anabella and Salvador Corona opened the first El Pollo Norteño® in Santa Ana in 1981. It was the culmination of their longtime desire to open a restaurant in the United States, the land of opportunity, after leaving their hometown of Cuidad Guzmán, Jalisco, Mexico to pursue their dream of a brighter future. Today, El Pollo Norteño® continues to be family-owned and operated, with Alfonso and Karina Corona and their three children at the helm. Our commitment to excellence, quality, impeccable service, great prices, and use of mesquite charcoal, keep folks coming back 40+ years later.
