About Us
The Corona History Association is proud to acknowledge it's 10 years as a non-profit organization dedicated to safeguarding the integrity of Corona history. With the starting point of the town’s founding as South Riverside in 1886, in the last decade, the CHA has added significant historical dialogue that includes the roles played by those in all cultures, races, and economic brackets in the intriguing story of Corona. From building historic markers, to successfully petitioning the naming of public amenities to honor individuals significant in the town’s development, and to stopping the continued desecration of the final resting places of hundreds of humble contributors and Corona pioneers, the Corona History Association has resulted in good works. Recently, the CHA has organized a day of “BoxCar Races” for CNUSD third graders to commemorate the three road races held around Grand Blvd. in 1913, 1914 & 1916, thereby introducing Corona history to a new generation. The Corona History Association is anxious to continue learning and responsibly teaching about Corona’s past.
