What is Staying Healthy and Being Fit All About?:
While being healthy and fit is a goal we all strive for, it means different things to different people. It might mean fitting into your "skinny" jeans, being able and ready to run a marathon, or simply restoring the condition of your body after a health problem. However, optimal health is an ongoing journey for which knowledge is the first step.
To help you start your journey to optimal health, the Women’s Leadership Luncheon series wants to help you gain that knowledge so that you can take those positive steps to knowing how to be healthy and fit, and most importantly, how to be as healthy and fit as you can be in order to live life to its fullest!
Your health is something you build over time, which begins by putting aside any reservations and fears about your ability to change. Trust that gaining knowledge and understanding of proven fitness methods will help you or enable you to help someone else reach health goals. Being fit and healthy is usually not the same.
You may be fit but that does not necessarily mean you are healthy. Good health is not just being void of any disease or frailty. To be healthy encompasses physical, mental, social and spiritual well being. Good health should not be our purpose for living but rather the means by which we live a rich and rewarding life.
To be fit and in good shape is something we all want, but not many of us are willing to do what it takes to make it a reality which is investing time and effort to the process. And the truth is that getting in shape does require you to invest time in your fitness and in yourself. We are often conditioned to work more and concentrate our free time on other people, which leaves us with little to no time for ourselves. So what do you do? Start by dedicating 10 minutes a day to your fitness. Now 10 minutes a day will never bring you the results you can achieve by working out 60 minutes a day, but if you can accomplish 10 minutes, three times a day you’ve just completed a 30 minute workout!
Ready to make that commitment towards being healthy and fit? Join us Wednesday, April 3 at 11:30AM at the Sizzler Restaurant (1461 Rimpau Avenue), where the Greater Corona Valley Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the City of Corona, will present “What is Staying Healthy and Being Fit All About?” as part of the Women’s Leadership Luncheon series.
