Description
The impact that violent crime has on our community is truly devastating. There is no feeling worse than losing a loved one to violent crime. It can be crippling and isolating and the victim’s families, often feel that no one knows their pain – that they are truly alone.
In an effort to honor these victims and let their families know that they are not alone, we will be reaffirming our dedication to crime victims at a commemoration ceremony on Tuesday, December 21st, where we will honor the 119 names of murdered victims that have been added to the Victims Memorial Wall since our last engraving in April 2010. The ceremony will begin at 5:00 p.m. in the Victims Memorial Plaza, located at 3960 Orange Street in downtown Riverside.
It is imperative that we stand united against violent crime for the rights of those who, for decades, were forgotten or left alone in the criminal justice system. Please join me as we remember and pay tribute to victims of violent crime in Riverside County as we ensure: “A Victim’s Voice Will Be Heard.”
Very truly yours,
Rod Pacheco
