On Saturday, September 9 two great organizations are coming together in helping the women of our region at the healthcare event from 9AM until 3PM. The great works of two groups, The Support Sisterz and The Pink Journey Foundation have been able to get other great people and companies to come together to make this event a success for the community and residents of the City of Corona. The location will be Circle City Center (365 N Main Street, Corona CA 92878)
In fashion with his prior philanthropic ventures, business owners Adam and Jennifer Owens are pledging MATCHING FUNDS up to $6,500. The funds raised will go to supporting the two great groups mentioned above and the amazing work they do! That day we will be testing between 40-50 women for breast cancer detection! There will be dental services, vision services, and other amazing services being offered.
We are excited to continue our breast screening program, Rolling with Hope-Mobile Mammography for the underserved bringing our fully equipped mammography unit to multiple health fairs/events providing no cost breast screenings directly into some of our most needed local underserved neighborhoods. This is the best and most efficient way we can deliver advanced technology and superior care to these patients as well as breast education to all.
The cost of providing a full day screening event is $6,500 allowing us to screen between 40-50 women 40+ years of age who are underinsured or uninsured. Many of these women have never had a breast screening. Adam and Jennifer have ensured the screening will happen, so, who will join Adam and Jennifer?
In addition, there is a toy drive and food drive. There will be drop off boxes at the Corona Circle City Center in the lobby beginning September 2nd. The toys will go to Children with Cancer. The food will go to local food pantries to be distributed to those in our community who are less fortunate.
Support Sisterz is a 501(c) (3) non-profit whose mission is to assist women emotionally and financially that are diagnosed with Breast and Gynecological cancers. We service the areas of Corona, Norco, and Eastvale. We fill the gap that women are not able to provide during their treatments! We assist with medical bills, copayments, groceries, gas, utilities, and other needs they may have. We go out into the community to discuss the importance of early detection and encourage women to advocate for themselves. We host a support group once a month that we call, Sisterz Sit Down, as well as an online support group! Donations allow us to provide this much needed service to women in our community! We could not do this without the support of people who believe in our mission! We granted over $99,000 in 2022.
More and more women are turning to us for assistance, and we need to be there for them!
When you donate to Support Sisterz, you can be sure your money is going directly to women in our community who need it. Everyone on our Board of Directors is either a Breast Cancer Survivor or carry the genetic mutations associated with Breast Cancer and other cancers.
The Pink Foundation: When it comes to breast cancer, early detection is the key to survival. Breast cancer screening can find cancer before a person has any symptoms. When breast cancer is caught in its early stages, the 5-year survival rate is almost 100%.
