Description
The CORONA Chamber, in partnership with the City of CORONA, will be honoring and remembering those 2,977 brave Americans who perished 20 years ago on 9/11. We invite you to join us on Saturday, September 11, 2021, as we commemorate and pay tribute to this horrific terrorism attack on America. We begin early, and will pause twice during our invited speakers' brief talks, once at 8:46am, and again at 9:03am, the times the two planes purposely crashed into the Twin Towers in New York. A 3rd plane crashed at 9:45am into the Pentagon, and the 4th plane crashed in Indian Lake, near Shanksville, Pennsylvania at 10:03am.
Our goal is to gather as many residents as possible that wish to participate. There is NO fee for this event, however, donations are absolutely accepted. We will have 2,977 American flags available for placement in the lawn of the Historic Civic Center, into the shape of 9/11 USA.
The location for this event is in front of Corona's Historic Civic Center, at 815 W. 6th Street, Corona, CA 92882.
We recommend arriving early, registration, and flag distribution begins at 7am. The official program with Presentation of Colors will begin at 8:15am.
There will be coffee, hot chocolate, and donuts available beginning at 7am.
If you wish to help, please text Bobby Spiegel at 951.733.1836. Volunteers welcome for both 9/11 and in proper clearing of the flags from the lawn on Sunday afternoon about 4pm.
The Commemoration is still in its planning stages; however, we have the following timeline that we are working with.
