Description
LIGHT UP THE HOLIDAYS WITH THE CITY OF CORONA
CORONA, CA– The City of Corona’s Library & Recreation Services Department will be hosting the 2018 Holiday Lighting Celebration on Sunday, December 2, from 4 to 7 p.m. on the Front Lawn of the Historic Civic Center, located at 815 W. Sixth St.
Enjoy a wonderful holiday atmosphere with live entertainment provided by Arts Alive and warm refreshments served by the Corona-Norco United Way. Children can create something special at Santa’s Workshop with Crossroads Christian Church’s helpful elves, have their picture taken with Santa himself hosted by the Corona Partners for Parks Foundation, and play in real snow donated by Thomas Miller Mortuary!
Help children in our community by bringing an unwrapped toy for the Corona Fire Department’s “Spark ofLove” toy drive to ensure a happy holiday season for all. We have also partnered with the Corona Regional Medical Center’s Hospice Auxiliary to host their “Luminaries of Life” tribute to remember a loved one.
The highlight of the evening will be the ceremonial lighting of the Historic Civic Center complex to launch the holiday season in Corona.
Holiday Vendors Needed for the Celebration
Are you a holiday craft vendor? Showcase your products at the City of Corona’s Holiday Lighting Celebration. Vendor applications are available online now. Registration is $30 per booth. The deadline to register is Tuesday, November 20.
Important Road Closure Information
On the day of the Holiday Lighting Celebration, West 6th Street will be closed between Vicentia Avenue and Buena Vista Avenue from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Businesses will still be accessible through the alley way behind the businesses. West 2nd Street will be used as a detour around the closure.
This event would not be possible without the support of Thomas Miller Mortuary & Crematory, Wescom Credit Union, United Way, Lifetouch, Corona Chamber of Commerce, Spark of Love, Estancia del Sol, Corona Regional Medical Center Hospice Auxiliary, and the Corona Parks Foundation.
