Join us at The Park in La Habra Heights for a fun family day in the place where the Hass avocado, the world’s most popular avocado variety by far, was born in 1926 in a grove owned by Rudolph Hass. The 2018 Avocado Festival will include ceremonies celebrating the 40th anniversary of the founding of the City of La Habra Heights. Members of past and present city councils will be present, and Janice Hahn, Los Angeles County Supervisor (Fourth District), will make a special presentation. • Dedication of new City of La Habra Heights flag • Planting and dedication of a commemorative Hass avocado tree. • La Habra Heights Historical Committee exhibit Guacamole contest | Arts & crafts | Pony rides | Face painting | Petting zoo | Shopping | Great food | Health/safety information | Gardening workshops | Historical exhibits This is a FREE event for the public to enjoy the celebration of the Home of the Hass Avocado.
