Description
Congregation Beth Shalom will hold the 12th Annual Legacy Awards to honor accomplishments; funds raised are for the education program. The event will be held at Eagle Glen Golf Club, 1800 Eagle Glen Parkway in Corona starting at 11am on March 11, 2018.
The Legacy Luncheon of Congregation Beth Shalom (CBS) is an annual fundraising event where the committee selects those who make a difference in our community. Congregation Beth Shalom is a Conservative Jewish synagogue serving the greater Corona/Norco/Eastvale areas and surrounding communities. We are proud to pay tribute to some very special people and one humanitarian business who have given unconditional service and support to our Jewish community.
The Legacy Award: This honor is awarded to individuals involved in our synagogue who exemplify the traditions of Jewish life and act as role models for future generations. These individuals have a high level of commitment to the CBS “community.” This year’s award recipient is Cantor Bruce & Marcy Shapiro and Harry & Hilda Eisen (both of blessed memory) and the Eisen Family.
The Guardian of Righteousness Award (Shomer Tzedek Award) This honor is awarded to a non-member who validates the tenets of Judaism in the local community. This year’s award recipient is Kevin Button.
The Business Partner Award (Shatuf Tzedek Award) This honor is presented to a business partner who has made a significant contribution to the Jewish community in the greater Corona Valley. This year’s award recipient is Lucas Oil Products.
Besides honoring members and community people, a beautiful luncheon is part of this event. During the event a silent auction and live auction for our Fund-A-Need takes place. In the past 4 years our need is Israel’s need. Thus we have been raising funds for groves of Trees in Israel. All funds raised are used to sustain our synagogue, the center of Jewish life in the greater Corona Valley since 1968.
This is the number one fundraiser of the year, which supports our classrooms, education program and campership fund. Last year we raised almost $40,000 through ticket sales, sponsorships and our ever popular silent and live auctions. Amazing for a small synagogue like CBS, but totally believable because of our community we live in and our committee’s incredible commitment and perseverance. The event offers individuals to purchase trees in Israel as part of their fund raising and community outreach.
